Yuvraj: Bigger battles lie ahead

West Indies who appeared to be cruising along at one stage, collapsed in a heap. Yuvraj reckoned that the side backed their instincts despite being under pressure. "It's a funny game and things change really quickly. Zak took a wicket, and then Bhajji got Pollard out, so that's where the game turned", said Man of the Match Yuvraj Singh.

Team India failed to last their full quota of overs for the third time in the tournament. However the Punjab southpaw felt that it wasn't a big concern. "We are not worried about not lasting 50 overs as long as we win. We are all looking forward to the game against Australia", he said.

When aked if they would have any specific plans for the Aussies, Yuvraj quickly reminded everyone. "Australia have had a string of wins, but whoever plays better on the particular day will come out on top. Since the likes of McGrath, Warne, Gilly and Hayden have retired, their line-up looks brittle. With Ponting not in great form, we would look to expose their weakness", he warned.

Yuvraj also said Sachin's decision to walk was a personal one.

Any thoughts of the team looking well in front of them before the game against West Indies was quickly brushed aside by Yuvraj. "Our focus was to beat them today, we weren't looking ahead of ourselves at any stage. The real challenge starts now", he added.

Yuvraj who has come into his own in the World Cup with three fifties and a century, apart from a truckload of wickets, reasoned out his hunger to perform for his success. "I wanted to get to the 100 mark, it was two years since I scored a last ton. It was a conscious decision to not play the ball in the air, and it worked for me", said a beaming Yuvraj.

"I worked hard when things didn't going my way. I was troubled by injuries and poor form, but my motto was "Tough times don't last, but tough people do", he added.

He played down the threat of the Australian pace trio of Brett Lee, Shaun Tait and Mitchell Johnson. "I don't think we have an issue with the short ball. If we had problems we wouldn't be the No. 1 Test team or the No. 2 ODI team. We know they have a good pace attack, but I am sure we would be prepared", said a confident Yuvraj.

Yuvraj's positivity was further refected when he added that the side was ready to take on any one, and didn't really have any preferences. "This is the moment you live for as a cricketer, it's about playing for the country. If we are thinking of winning the World Cup, we have to beat the best, so we would be ready for anyone in our way", he signed off.
