Australia crash out of the World Cup as India hold nerve to snatch victory

India ended Australia's 12-year World Cup domination as Sachin Tendulkar led a star-studded batting lineup to a five-wicket win that set up a monumentalsemi-final against Pakistan.
"Yuvraj" All Round Performance led 5 Wicket Victory For the Home Team
Until last weekend Australia were unbeaten in 34 World Cup matches and had won three straight titles, but consecutive losses has spelled quarter-final elimination.
Captain Ricky Ponting did enough to silence his critics by grafting 104 from 118 balls to anchor Australia's 260 for six, but it wasn't enough to save the defending champions from their worst World Cup campaign since 1992.
Tendulkar (53) and Gautam Gambhir (50) set the course but in a seesawing match, India almost conspired to lose it before Yuvraj Singh (57 no) led the hosts home.
